Quick Overview: Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package Position: Laborer, Semi-skilled Laborer, Water Maintenance Worker I, Sewer Maintenance Worker I Company: Workwarp Location: Remote (various locations within the City of Akron) Start Date: Immediate openings available Key Responsibilities: Perform manual laboring tasks, such as spreading and raking asphalt mix, loosening and digging out areas with pneumatic tools, and building wooden forms for concrete Operate small machines, hand and power tools, and less complex power equipment, such as slag spreaders and liquid patch spreaders Assist skilled workers in more complex maintenance tasks, such as herbicide and pesticide application Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including emptying trash cans, painting, replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains and toilets, and repairing and installing fencing Drive pickup or small dump truck to transport personnel and materials to and from job sites Load and unload materials from trucks Install and repair playground and recreation equipment Cut grass with power mower, walk behind, or push mower, and operate weed eater for weed control Rake leaves, pick up debris, and perform other tasks to assist in the maintenance of parks Assist in planting trees and spreading mulch Cut back plants and brush Park, clean and maintain division vehicles Secure parking lots and decks Communicate with other employees and supervisors utilizing a mobile or hand-held radio Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Ability to read and write A minimum of six months of paid experience in general laboring work Valid State of Ohio driver's license May require possession of a valid State of Ohio commercial driver's license (CDL class and endorsements as required by division) Basic knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in labor operations Ability to use small machines, hand and power tools, and less complex power equipment Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks Ability to understand and follow oral instructions Ability to perform heavy manual labor for long periods of time, often under adverse weather conditions Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a related field, such as construction, maintenance, or environmental conservation Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication and teamwork skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Workwarp, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
