Solaris System Administrator (OCI Experience Preferred)
Location: Remote Experience: 5+ Years Employment Type: Part-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Solaris System Administrator with hands-on expertise in managing Oracle Solaris environments and exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will be responsible for system administration, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability of enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Solaris servers • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies • Handle patch management, upgrades, and system hardening • Work on ZFS file systems, storage, and volume management • Support backup and recovery operations • Collaborate with application and database teams (Oracle DB preferred) • Provide L2/L3 support for production environments Required Skills • Strong experience in Oracle Solaris (10/11) • Good understanding of Unix/Linux fundamentals • Experience with ZFS, Zones, and Containers • Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash/Korn) • Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS) Preferred Skills • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) • Exposure to cloud migration or hybrid environments • Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform – optional) • Understanding of security and compliance standards Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field • Relevant certifications in Solaris/Oracle Cloud are a plus Soft Skills • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills • Good communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment How to Apply: Send your resume and a short cover letter to [email protected] Or apply online via: Use the subject line: Solaris System Administrator Role
