Mid level Estimator

Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking a Remote - Mid Level Electrical Cost Estimator, to join our team, located in Tucker, GA. We are looking for a strong leader, with demonstrated success and broad experience in producing capital project estimates of varying grades and all disciplines on projects ranging from chemical process plants, electric power generating facilities, to pulp and paper mills. An individual with a safety-first mind-set, solid knowledge and expertise in estimating, and excellent communication skills will thrive in our dynamic environment. Remote work option is also available with this position. Key Responsibilities: • Lead electrical discapline of project estimate • Work with discipline engineers and project managers to perform the conceptual estimating phase of engineering studies for either greenfield capital projects or retrofits • Familiarity with the Front-End Loading (FEL) process for conceptual development of a project Supervise project setup. Establish and maintain WBS, project coding structures • Work with engineering, procurement and construction teams to define work packages and contracting strategies • Attend Cost Estimate Kick - Off Meetings to obtain thorough understanding of Scope of Work and cost estimate requirements • Ensure cost estimates are prepared in accordance with Wood Cost Estimating Procedures and guidelines. Promote the use of standard estimating systems, procedures, and work methods • Develop and issue to relevant parties for approval / comment the Basis of Estimate, including statements of work scope, man - hour estimates, narratives, and review / comment on client documents • Facilitate / chair / participate in internal project cost estimate reviews and operations & cost reviews, coordinate comments and obtain estimate sign - off approval from relevant parties • Liaise with proposals, engineering, procurement, subcontract and construction functions, HR, finance and others functions as required, to maintain awareness of the requirements and costs of labour, plant and equipment, materials, subcontracts, offices, IT, and other provisions, to ensure these are accurately reflected in the project / proposal cost estimate #LI-Remote Skills / Qualifications Skills / Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or relevant related discipline • Minimum of 5 years of progressive capital estimating experience for an engineering consulting firm or EPC firm • Excellent knowledge of conceptual EPC Power & Process estimating • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work at an advanced level with all Microsoft Office applications • Timberline / SAGE proficiency a plus • Ability to travel occasionally Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
