Machine Learning Scientist, Speech Processing

Job Description: • As an ML Scientist, you will be responsible for building machine learning solutions to problems of societal importance, and mentoring other team members in this effort. • You will participate in problem definition and the development and execution of algorithms and solutions to the problems. • As an expert in ML for speech processing, you will lead teams working on ASR, speech diarization, and TTS. • You will need to understand user challenges and their context, curate and transform data, train and validate models, run simulations, and broadly derive insights from data.• You will work in cross-functional teams spanning engineering, solutions, domain experts, and designers. • You will also work closely with social sector organisations and are encouraged to collaborate with researchers across the world. • You will mentor junior researchers and interns and participate in recruiting and hiring activities. Requirements: • M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, with 6+ years of work experience in speech processing, or a Ph.D.from a reputed institute. • Experience and expertise in applying machine learning and deep learning to speech processing is a must-have. • Experience in building ASR or TTS systems for Indian languages is a strong plus. • Ideal candidates should have a strong research background, experience mentoring junior researchers through robust coding practices and ideation, and proficiency in a variety of data mining and analysis methods and tools. • They should also be skilled in building and implementing models, visualizing data, developing and using algorithms, and running simulations.• Candidates should be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven track record of driving projects to completion. • Evidence of written skills through high-quality research publications is a plus. • Candidates should be passionate about using their technical skills to solve large, societally important problems.
