Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Insurance Customer Service Advisor to join our team in a 100% remote capacity. As a key member of our patient support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients, addressing their billing inquiries, and ensuring a seamless experience throughout their care journey. Key Responsibilities

Communicate with new patients to explain the billing process and address any questions or concerns they may have
Proactively reach out to patients when meaningful billing changes are implemented, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout the process
Administer the Financial Assistance Program (FAP), providing guidance and support to patients in need
Respond to inbound patient billing calls, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner and escalating to management as necessary
Conduct follow-up phone calls to patients as needed, recognizing and resolving customer issues promptly and efficiently
Serve as a primary point of contact for patients regarding financial assistance, statements, insurance changes, and charges
Manage, update, and communicate all aspects of the FAP to relevant departments, ensuring seamless coordination and support
Input data into our company computer platform, maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records
Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
Interact with patients, families, and colleagues in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner, upholding the highest standards of customer service and patient care


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent, with some college preferred
Experience in collections, verification, and/or analysis, with a strong background in customer service and call center operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer proficiency, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software, including Lynx and CPR+
Knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to navigate electronic databases and platforms


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

Previous experience in a healthcare or medical billing environment
Strong understanding of insurance billing and reimbursement processes
Experience with financial assistance programs and patient advocacy
Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)
