Job Summary
We are looking for experienced and passionate educators to provide instructional support services to students in need of academic intervention and language acquisition. As a Federal Program Tutor Advisor, you will work closely with certified teachers to deliver targeted support to students from kindergarten to 12th grade. Your primary goal will be to help students achieve academic success and build confidence in their abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one tutoring to students who require academic intervention, under the supervision of a certified teacher
Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials and maintaining a conducive learning environment
Compile and maintain accurate student records on attendance, testing results, student progress, and achievement
Offer information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors to enhance teaching and learning
Conduct parent involvement activities, including parent-teacher conferences, home visits, and communication via phone or email
Coordinate parent/family school functions and events at the school site
Attend meetings and conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students, parents, and instructors
Provide support in libraries or media centers, as needed
Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate records
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education, or obtained an associate's degree
Met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrated knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness)
Highly Qualified status, as defined by No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements
Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff
Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students
Adequate level of instructional technology skills
Experience and training working with children from diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply
Experience working with students with special needs or English language learners
Familiarity with educational software and technology
