An Environmental Scientist or Geologist is typically assigned specific tasks on project teams and is expected to use their knowledge to resolve the problems and tasks they are assigned under the mentorship of senior staff. Fieldwork, data management, report writing, and interaction with project staff will play an important role in the candidate’s success.Who are we looking for:We are looking for a motivated, bright, and talented Environmental Geologist or Scientist to join our company in the Billings, Montana area. To name a few, projects may include: Legacy oil and gas well reclamation sites in Wyoming and Colorado.Support of CERCLA (Superfund) sites in New Mexico and Montana.Driving investigation and remedial actions on brownfield sites across the country.What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran:Collecting soil, groundwater, and other environmental media samples to support site investigation and remediation objectives.Installing monitoring wells, performing remediation monitoring, and overseeing contractors.Assist field investigations and provide construction oversight by following safety policies, thoroughly understanding specifications, and documenting contractor activities and safety procedures.Assisting in preparing various regulatory submittals, technical memoranda, and/or reports.Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret data for use in reports and other visualizations, including maps, charts, and 3D models.Candidate should be a self-starter and possess strong technical fieldwork and writing skills to support various science and engineering projects. Detail-oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills combined with a positive attitude, and can work independently and within teams.What you will need to succeed:Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program. M.S. preferred.A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
