Electrical Design Manager (Contingent)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the development and implementation of design standards across multiple building programs. This role will act as the primary liaison between key internal Amazon design stakeholder teams, the GES Design and Construction team, external design teams, and general contractors. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in aiding design development and increasing standardization across all Amazon building sites. With extensive project management experience leading Electrical Programs on industrial warehouse/fulfillment facilities and/or manufacturing facilities, this individual will excel in multi-discipline coordination on new and ongoing design and construction projects.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for electrical design-related inquiries among various stakeholders.
• Lead the development and implementation of electrical design standards across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external design teams, and general contractors to ensure alignment on project goals.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project objectives.
• Conduct Value Engineering (VE) assessments to optimize project costs and schedules.
• Oversee multi-discipline coordination efforts to mitigate conflicts during the design and construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, NEC standards, NFPA, and other industry regulations.
• Facilitate communication among all parties involved in the project lifecycle to promote transparency and collaboration.
• Travel occasionally to domestic construction sites as required.

Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Strong project management skills with a focus on complex commercial projects.
• Proficient in BIM coordination and clash detection methodologies.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; preferred Professional Engineer (P.E).
• 10+ years of project management experience from design development through construction administration; industrial experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, NEC standards, NFPA, and industry regulations.
