Economist / Policy Research Analyst for Data-Driven India Market Stories
We are building a data-first research platform focused on India’s economy, financial systems, digital payments, and policy trends. We are looking for an Economist / Policy Research Analyst to help us convert official Indian datasets (RBI, NPCI, MOSPI, Spices Board, NSI, etc.) into high-value, decision-oriented data stories used by businesses, investors, and policy professionals. What you’ll work on You will not be writing generic blogs. You will be creating analytical data stories such as: • Early signals of credit stress, consumption slowdown, or liquidity shifts • How digital payments, UPI, AEPS, cards, and cash reflect real economic behavior • Policy impact analysis (DBT, subsidies, savings schemes, inclusion) • Sector-specific insights (banking, fintech, commodities, trade, inflation proxies) Each story is backed by real datasets + charts.What we provide • Clean, structured historical datasets • Clear story themes and problem statements • Editorial support on structure and presentation You focus on: Analysis, interpretation, and economic reasoning ⸻ What we’re looking for • Background in Economics / Econometrics / Public Policy / Finance • Strong analytical writing skills • Ability to explain economic signals clearly • Comfort working with official Indian data • Experience with research, think tanks, banks, consulting, or policy institutions is a plus Engagement type • Project-based / per story • Initial goal: 5–10 premium data stories • Long-term collaboration possibleCompensation: Paid per story based on complexity and depth To apply, please share 1.Brief background (education / research / work) 2. 1–2 examples of analytical or research writing (published or unpublished) 3.
