Adjunct Faculty Doctor of Ministry- Resorative Leadership
The mission of Myrtle Beach College is to provide high quality, easily accessible, minimal cost higher education in Christian perspective to as many people as possible. For the last several years our emphasis has been on incarcerated students. Our program is being expanded in 2026 to non-incarcerated students with a new degree program in the School of Theology- a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) with an emphasis in restorative leadership. This program will be open to those who have a seminary degree and some who have a masters in a related field. This is a practical skills program. It is geared towards helping persons currently serving churches as pastors to have a wider understanding of ministry to those beyond the church doors. This often requires additional knowledge and skills in responding to the needs of those experiencing very difficult situations. Applicants need to have a thorough knowledge of their subject area, significant experience, and excellent presentation and online classroom skills. The presentations we are looking for are less Albert Einstein and more Mr. Rogers as we try to add a more human touch to the online process. The instructor will meet with their class online for two hours twice a week in the evening for four weeks. The courses listed below are one credit courses. The compensation is $500 per course which is downright pathetic but the eternal IRA is terrific. An instructor is being sought for each of the following courses: Restoration leadership in the bible, Your church and social problems, How to write a brief case study, Identifying and assessing community needs, Understanding poverty in your community, Sexual violence and abuse, Issues related to suicide, Crisis in adolescence, Family disintegration, Escaping pornography, Family dynamics regarding aging, Homelessness, Understanding mental illness, Crisis intervention and follow-up, Problems of military families, Domestic violence, Helping the victims of crime, Grief, Understanding addiction, Alcoholism, Re-entry of former prisoners, The criminal justice system. Myrtle Beach College is a relatively new institution working towards accreditation. This is not (yet) a well oiled program.
