Job Description
rockITdata is seeking a talented Junior/Mid Level Software Engineer to help us with application support for a scheduling product line that will positively impact the lives of millions of Americans. Our team needs a creative engineer with experience supporting and troubleshooting applications, with strong communication and collaboration skills with a passion for innovation. This team provides 24/7 coverage of a scheduling product line, will be monitoring for tickets and application performance, triaging / responding to issues, and notifying on call resources when necessary.
We are seeking part-time talent willing to work the following shifts:
Team 1
Sundays 8am - 8pm
Rotating shifts 4pm - 8pm weekly (Week 1 Monday - Tuesday); (Week 2 Monday - Wednesday)
Team 2
Saturdays 8am - 8pm
Rotating shifts 4pm - 8pm weekly (Week 1 Wednesday - Friday); (Week 2 Thursday - Friday)
Key Responsibilities
 Monitoring for tickets and application performance
 Triaging / responding to issues
 Revise, update, refactor and debug code
 Improve existing software
 Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
 Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support
Required Qualifications
 BachelorÂs Degree or higher (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
 2+ years' experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
 Experience with REACT, Typescript, and Java Web Services
 Excellent knowledge of software development and user interface web application
 Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
 An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
 Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, AWS Cloud Environments
 VA or other Federal Government experience
 Excellent analytical and organization skills
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent team skills
 Has high standards, results oriented, and a customer-centric attitude
