  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 11 years of experience in vendor management, engineering consulting, global program management, or a similar role

Preferred qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Experience within a consulting organization in technology
  • Experience managing vendor operations including pricing discussions, agreements, and extended workforce
  • Experience managing multiple global stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment

About The Job

As the Google Cloud Engineering Vendor Solutions Manager, you will manage vendor operations that provide critical support to the Engineering organization. In this role, you will oversee one or more vendors, operations, and/or engagements globally. This team centrally manages vendor managed engineering operations - including software development, UXR, and other capabilities across Google Cloud.

You will help shape and execute a scalable and customer-centric vendor strategy, own vendor relationships, and oversee vendor delivery. You'll build outcome based operating and commercial models that ensure our vendors are delivering excellent quality of service. You will work across Engineering teams within Cloud to build a vendor ecosystem that can elevate Google Cloud’s product team’s ability to deliver exceptional products to our customers.

Additionally, you will work closely with Extended Workforce (xWS), Google Procurement Organization (GPO), Legal, Strategy, Operational, and Engineering teams to define and scale the new standard for Engineering vendor operations. We work in a fast-paced, highly distributed, and demanding environment and thrive in ambiguity, bring order to chaos, and contribute to the success of a program and strategy with positive, can-do attitudes. Your projects and impact often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $158,000-$243,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the development and execution of the Engineering vendor management and delivery strategy including planning, commercial models, and location strategy.
  • Manage the overall relationship with one or more onshore and/or offshore vendor team(s) to drive quality, cost optimization, and productivity improvement programs.
  • Drive supplier performance, meeting and exceeding performance targets.
  • Identify, prioritize, and deliver scalable solutions and run strategic/operational initiatives across the globe to scale and transform Engineering services, while measuring the business (including cost) impact of those solutions in order to provide insights to executive leadership and inform further innovation.
