About Us Target's UX team is a multidisciplinary group of 130+ design, research, and accessibility professionals and specialists dedicated to improving and evolving our digital experiences. As a UX Director of Design Operations, you'll play a critical role in driving our UX strategy, scaling our UX practice, and ensuring that our teams have the resources and support they need to deliver outstanding work. About the Role As the UX Director of Design Operations, you'll serve as a leader and strategic partner to our UX teams, driving the development of best practices, processes, and tools that enable our UX community to thrive. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth, improve collaboration, and drive business value through design. Key Responsibilities Establish a Strong UX Foundation : Develop the operational foundation, strategy, and direction to ensure UX teams have the resources and support they need to deliver exceptional work aligned with strategic initiatives. Leadership, Team Development, and Growth : Mentor, coach, and guide a team of people leaders and individual contributors, helping them develop new skills, build trust, and drive engagement. Drive Business Value and Design Impact : Use data to inform your decision-making, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and drive design impact across the organization. Foster Strong Relationships and Cross-Functional Collaboration : Build trust and collaborate with UX, Product, Tech, and Business stakeholders to drive exceptional results and achieve business objectives. About You To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong background in Design Program Management and Design Operations, with experience working with in-house or agency product design teams. You'll also need: Proven Leadership Experience : A track record of leading high-performing, cross-geography or remote teams, with expertise in hiring, developing, and coaching talent. Experience in Complex, Matrixed Organizations : A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with working in complex, global organizations. Data-Driven Storytelling : Strong visual, verbal, and written storytelling skills, with the ability to bring stakeholders along and drive design impact. Strategic Problem-Solving : A strategic approach to tackling complex problems, with strong facilitation skills and the ability to bring stakeholders into the process. Excellent Communication Skills : The ability to articulate the impact and value of design, with strong relational skills and the ability to work with various levels of leadership.
