Job Overview In this role, you will work closely with our art, design, and engineering teams to identify workflow inefficiencies, pain points, and troubles in our development process. You will collaborate with the team to generate candidate solutions, weigh tradeoffs given the problem context and development timetable, implement the selected solution, and help the adoption of the solution by the team. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting, developing, and maintaining our present set of engine-specific and custom tools that we use every day. Key Responsibilities Proactively identify inefficiencies and elaborate areas in our development technique across disciplines Maintain, extend, and aid present development tools Build and guide custom asset pipelines Grow our proprietary libraries, tools, and technologies across game engines and structures Collaborate with the team to generate candidate solutions and implement the selected solution Assist in the adoption of the solution by the team and provide training and support as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong passion for empowering others to do their best work. You should have experience with the overall tool lifecycle, including coming across issues, comparing potential answers, implementing tools, and evaluating their effectiveness. You should also have experience working with custom standalone tools and be capable of growing tools that can be utilized by many game development disciplines. Technical Requirements Programming languages: C#, C++, Python Experience with game development engines and tools Ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications While not essential, experience with custom game engines, Unreal or Unity, and JavaScript and web tech would be highly desirable. Additionally, experience working in a game development environment and knowledge of game development pipelines and tools would be an asset.
