As the Executive Director of the McGraw Center for Educational Leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education, fostering a culture of collaboration, and advancing the Center's mission to cultivate leaders who can drive systemic change and address the evolving challenges of education and learning.
The McGraw Center, established in 2022 by a $10 million gift from the Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Family Foundation, is a hub for innovation and collaboration, dedicated to advancing educational leadership across K-12, higher education, corporate and lifelong learning, and nonprofit sectors. As the Executive Director, you will provide strategic direction, develop cutting-edge programs, and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives and ensure the Center's long-term sustainability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction for the McGraw Center, aligning initiatives with Penn GSE's Strategic Vision and broader educational leadership objectives
Design, implement, and assess cutting-edge programs that enhance cross-sector, integrative leadership development
Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Penn GSE partners, external experts, students, alumni, and leaders across sectors
Secure funding through grants, gifts, and strategic partnerships to realize the fullest vision of the Center
Lead the prestigious Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education, maintaining its legacy of recognizing innovative leaders in the field of education
Serve as a thought leader in educational leadership, representing the Center at conferences, in media, and in public forums
Qualifications:
Master's degree required; Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent strongly preferred
7+ years of leadership experience in educational, nonprofit, or corporate settings with a strong track record of developing and executing programs at the intersection of education and leadership
Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with a track record of driving progress with and without direct authority
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders within Penn GSE and across educational sectors
Strong communication skills, with the ability to serve as a public advocate and thought leader in educational leadership
