Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to identify and address the social and emotional needs of students.
Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' social and emotional well-being, identifying challenges and implementing appropriate interventions.
Provide individual and group counseling to students, fostering positive mental health and emotional development.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with social-emotional needs, ensuring their academic success.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
Valid and current Michigan state social work license (LMSW or LCSW).
Proven experience as a social worker in an educational setting or related field.
Knowledge of virtual platforms and technology for remote counseling and support services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff virtually.
Ability to assess and address the social-emotional needs of students from diverse backgrounds and varying age groups.
Familiarity with the Michigan state education system and regulations pertaining to school social work.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to support students facing challenges and obstacles.
