What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Plan, lead, and implement parenting, educational, independent living skills, and recreational activities during assigned shifts
Build positive relationships with program participants and foster connections with mothers and their children
Manage a group of children, enforcing agency policies and procedures
Document client progress and interactions via online database(s) and report serious incidents as necessary
Teach life skills through daily interactions and assist residents with essential tasks
What Is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred in Human Services, Education, or Psychology
At least 6 months of experience in the human services or child welfare field working with children and adolescents
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with valid vehicle insurance
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with computer software and a solid grasp of trauma-informed care specific to pregnant and parenting populations
Previous work with children and adolescents in a residential setting
