Cashier/Customer Service/Sales Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth checkout experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, have experience in retail sales, and be comfortable handling cash transactions. Duties
ā¢ Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately to process transactions
ā¢ Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with inquiries and resolving issues
ā¢ Perform cashiering duties including cash handling, processing payments, and managing the cash register
ā¢ Engage in upselling and product demonstrations to enhance customer experience and drive sales
ā¢ Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed
ā¢ Assist with merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively to encourage purchases
ā¢ Supervise junior staff when necessary, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales
ā¢ Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations
ā¢ Communicate effectively with customers, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries
Qualifications
ā¢ Previous experience in a retail environment preferred, particularly in grocery stores
ā¢ Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
ā¢ Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers
ā¢ Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as it enhances customer interaction
ā¢ Experience in supervising staff or leading teams is a plus
ā¢ Ability to perform product demos and upsell items effectively
ā¢ Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail calculations
