Ā Reports to: Director of Special Education Services
Responsibilities:
Ā Deliver personalized and engaging instruction to students with special needs in a classroom setting.
Ā Develop and adapt individualized lesson plans and materials that cater to diverse learning abilities.
Ā Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to create and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Ā Utilize innovative teaching techniques and resources to address individual learning styles and challenges.
Ā Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and track achievements in alignment with IEP goals.
Ā Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' social and academic growth.
Ā Stay informed about best practices in special education and employ creative approaches to meet students' needs.
Requirements:
Ā Valid Iowa teaching certification with a special education endorsement.
Ā Demonstrated experience and expertise in teaching students with special needs.
Ā Profound understanding of IEP development, implementation, and assessment.
Ā Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff.
Ā Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting students' holistic development.
Ā Enthusiasm for utilizing various teaching methodologies and adaptive technologies.
Ā Dedication to creating a safe and inclusive classroom that fosters an environment of respect and growth.
