Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager - Release Train Engineer to lead our Agile Release Train (ART) and drive the success of our IT projects. As a Release Train Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the budgetary, scheduling, and delivery of assigned initiatives, ensuring compliance with our PMO/Next Generation Delivery Organization standards and procedures. You will lead and coach a team of teams, remove impediments, and drive continuous improvement, utilizing your strong understanding of Agile and SAFe principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage complex enterprise-level programs or multiple projects concurrently, with a focus on delivering large-scale IT initiatives
Develop and communicate plans to deliver major IT initiatives to IT and business communities, including task and interdependency management, milestone tracking, and resource allocation
Serve as the primary interface for IT initiatives, outlining responsibilities and coordinating preparation of statements of work, specifications, and contracts
Negotiate IT interests, manage external vendor and contractor contracts, and monitor budget and resource levels
Ensure dependencies are understood and proactively managed, and risks and issues are identified and mitigated
Facilitate key ART-level events, including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, ART Sync, and Scrum of Scrums
Train, mentor, and coach Product Owners and Scrum Masters in preparing and developing features and work items for PI Planning and Sprint planning events
Communicate program progress, health, status, risks, and impediments to business and IT leaders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with 5+ years of experience in large project management and 5+ years working with Lean-Agile methodologies
3+ years of experience as an RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager
SAFe Release Train Engineer or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification, and PMP certification
Strong understanding of Agile and SAFe principles, with experience in delivering large programs using SAFe
Experience working with data product owners, data engineering teams, and business stakeholders to implement data governance processes and procedures
Knowledge of big data technologies, utility meter and billing systems, and smart grid related initiatives
