At this stage, people working outside of Australia will be engaged as independent contractors, with similar benefits that our Australian employees enjoy (e.g. Bueller days, access to a learning and development fund, home office starter fund).ROLE OBJECTIVEThe objective of this role is to lead and scale our global investing content and news function, powered by AI-enabled workflows. As editor, you will oversee the production, refinement, and distribution of author and AI-generated financial content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, compliance, and strong editorial standards.You will lead the news/market content strategy and global news output, while working closely with our news and community teams to provide highly curated, quality and timely coverage. Depending on experience this role can lead the function itself.You will act as the bridge between content, engineering, commercial stakeholders, PR agencies, and publishing partners (including Yahoo Finance, Apple News, Google News, Robinhood, and other distribution platforms). This is a hands-on leadership role combining editorial excellence, investing knowledge, partner management, distribution strategy, and content development.Beyond day-to-day editing and publishing, you will shape news/market content strategy, manage internal and external distribution channels, and contribute strategically to overall company strategy.TEAM STRUCTURE & REPORTING LINESYou will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and work cross-functionally with:Engineering (AI news publishing and automation systems)Commercial / Partnerships (distribution partners and PR agencies)Product and Executive teamsMarketing (email distribution and audience growth)You will lead the global content and news function, setting editorial standards, managing workflows, and driving distribution strategy. You will work in close partnership with the AI team to improve output quality and scalability.RESPONSIBILITIESEditorial & Content LeadershipAct as the primary editor and curator for article and platform content.Review, refine, fact-check, and enhance AI-produced articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, compliance, and editorial quality.Lead global investing news output across multiple markets and time zones.Develop and execute a clear news/market content strategy aligned with audience growth, partner requirements, and commercial objectives.Create thematic content initiatives tied to market events, earnings seasons, macro trends, and sector movements.Establish editorial guidelines, tone of voice, publishing standards, and quality control frameworks.Provide structured editorial feedback to engineering to enhance output quality and reduce error rates.Distribution & Audience GrowthOversee publishing workflows to major platforms including Yahoo Finance, Apple News, Google News, Robinhood, and other syndication partners.Ensure content meets the formatting, compliance, and quality standards of each distribution channel.Manage and optimise distribution across owned channels, including Marketing Insights email newsletters.Partner with Marketing to grow reach, engagement, and subscriber performance.Monitor performance metrics (engagement, impressions, CTR, open rates) and continuously refine content and distribution strategy.Commercial & Partner EngagementWork directly with external stakeholders to support content initiatives.Ensure partner-related content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with our editorial standards.Provide strong customer service to publishing partners and commercial stakeholders.Support commercial initiatives by aligning content strategy with revenue opportunities and distribution growth.CAPABILITIESKnowledgeStrong understanding of investing, stock markets, financial statements, and market news.Experience in financial journalism, investing content, equity research, or financial media.Understanding of digital publishing ecosystems and major news distribution platforms.Familiarity with AI-assisted content workflows is highly desirable.SkillsExceptional copywriting, story telling and editing skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to simplify complex financial concepts into engaging, accurate articles.Strong editorial judgment and a taste for what quality looks like.Comfortable working with technical teams and able to engage meaningfully with AI/engineering discussions.Ability to manage multiple publishing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong stakeholder communication and partner management skills.Data-driven mindset — able to interpret content and email performance metrics and optimise accordingly.AttributesEntrepreneurial mindset with a builder mentality — comfortable shaping a function from the ground up.Hands-on and execution-focused.Commercially aware and aligned with business growth objectives.High integrity and strong editorial ethics.Adaptable and comfortable working across time zones in a global publishing environment.Proactive problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of content, technology, distribution, and partnerships.InvestingYou are a passionate investor and already follow global markets dailyExcellent knowledge of value investing and long term investing principlesUnderstand how to analyze a business and arrive at an intrinsic valuePERKSFlexible Remote Working: Work where you are most productive;Simply Stop: Time is one of the most valuable commodities, so we stop working early on Fridays;Share Club: We provide a subscription to SWS, cash for you to invest & regular sessions to discuss stocks and investment ideas;Parental Leave Policy: With a supportive return to work option;Learning & Development Fund: We invest in your growth;Team Events & Hackathons: An opportunity for everyone to come together and push what is possible.
