Job Description SummaryThe Steam Turbine Systems Technology leader (m/f/d) owns those technologies that span across different steam turbines modules and components along the product life cycle. This contains close collaboration with adjacent, interfacing functions and leaders in product Management, engineering, supply chain and services.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities Own the steam turbine system technologies and related engineering disciplines, such as thermodynamics, operability, design for manufacturing and design practices.Lead a team of Controlled Title Holders, ST System Integration Leaders, ST Thermal Performance Engineers, ST Operability Engineers, ST Design LiaisonEngineers who:Contribute to definition of the product strategy, multi generation product plan and multi generation technology planCollaborate closely with Product Management, System Engineering, Performance Engineering and Component Engineering across NPI, Requisition Engineering and Service Engineering.Collaborate closely with associated engineering disciplines and their controlled title holdersDeliver on specific NPI programs further developing, improving standardizing and automating steam turbine engineering processesOwn the design and application space for steam turbinesOwn the steam turbine application catalogueOwn the associated engineering hour estimation for requisition engineeringContribute to defining the product for bidding on customer inquiriesOwn the “as bid” P50 engineering thermal performance and other engineering parameter guarantees that enter into the product offering contractsOwn the Reliability, availability and AM performanceCollaborate with requisition and service engineering to assess business opportunity and evaluate necessary resources and schedule for customer deliveriesOwnership, stewardship and controllership of ST design practicesRequirementsMin B.Sc. Engineering or Physics in the field of Turbomachinery, Thermal Power Generation and Energy System Engineering, or equivalent qualification(s).Significant applicable professional experienceMultiple years of demonstrated experience working on steam turbine engineering, including system integration with CC plant and working closely with component engineering teamsFluency in English LanguageDesired CharacteristicsHigher academic degree may be an advantageDemonstrated experience as engineering/technology leader engineer or senior engineering managerComprehensive understanding of steam turbine product and technologies including integration into the combined cycle overall plantExperience with performance tools, heat balances, performance prediction and measurementsExperience with steam turbine operability and life cycleExperience in integrating, harmonizing and standardizing technologies with the aim to create new design standards and design practicesExperience with steam turbine initiate to order and order to remittance processesDemonstrated experience in applying LEAN, Six Sigma and Continuous ImprovementAbility to communicate effectively to teams, peers, leadership and occasionally to external customersAbility to work vertically and horizontally with engineers, peers and leaders across the organizationOther spoken languages may be an advantage (e.g. German, Spanish, Polish)Ability to travel and work with a global intercultural teamNote:To comply with US immigration and other legal requirements, it is necessary to specify the minimum number of years' experience required for any role based within the USA. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
