About the Role This role acts as the senior legal business partner to Gap Inc.'s Athleta & Banana Republic brands to counsel on marketing and intellectual property issues. The successful candidate will need strong business and customer acumen, excellent communication and relationship building skills, and the ability to pivot on complex legal matters for the continued growth of the company. You will be directly involved in driving strategy, counseling the business, and helping to develop processes to mitigate risk and protect Gap Inc.'s interests. Success in this role will depend on effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional team members and business partners. What You'll Do • Advise on advertising and marketing materials, product claims (particularly “green” or sustainability-related claims), promotional offers, contests and sweepstakes • Manage trademark, copyright, and patent prosecution and enforcement • Drive effective resolution of IP and marketing-related claims and litigation • Support cross-functional teams with IP contracts, franchise, licensing, and related deals, and devise and implement any changes to IP portfolio resulting from those deals • Proactively engage with and support business partners to provide training, develop best practices, and meet long-term business needs • Identify business issues, potential liability, and reputational risks, and collaborate with business partners on creative and practical solutions • Direct the work of and supervise paralegals and outside counsel Who You Are • JD from an accredited law school. Salary Range: $152,100 - $207,600 USD Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location.
