As a Senior Software Engineer, Core Services at ClickUp, you will help to design and deliver scalable distributed shared tools & services used by all other engineering teams. The Role: Build upon and integrate customer feedback both internal and external into our API tooling and services. Create new architectural foundations and mission critical distributed systems while collaborating with other teams. Work within an agile scrum-based engineering team reporting to the Senior Manager of Core Services. Uphold the highest levels of customer satisfaction in all things you do. Advocate, create, and maintain API governance across engineering through collaboration, automation and outreach. Own integrations within our API Gateway layer and API lifecycles from design to production. Identify improvements to the design and implementation of various new and existing critical shared services. Help to grow our infrastructure engineering organization's shared services relied upon by other engineering teams to accelerate product development. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Strong understanding of API standards, design approaches, and integration patterns. Strong understanding of CAP Theorem and distributed systems design patterns. Proficient with TypeScript. Proficient with Golang. Excellent communication skills. Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Strong consideration for developer experience in everything you build. Desirable: Pragmatic approach to software design, development & delivery. Experience working with Kafka and related event based patterns.
