[Remote] Performance Engineer (QA / Retail / D365)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. IT Associates is seeking an experienced Performance Engineer to support performance testing and tuning for an ERP transformation program for a retail client. The role involves designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests across various systems and collaborating with QA, development, and infrastructure teams to optimize performance and meet non-functional requirements.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design and execute performance test plans across D365 Finance (a big plus) and connected integrations (AIS, ADF, Snowflake, etc.) using Azure Load Testing OR JMeter
ā¢ Establish baselines for key end-to-end workflows (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, GL sync, etc.) and measure throughput, latency, and stability
ā¢ Develop reusable test scripts and frameworks for load and stress testing across APIs, integrations, and UI layers
ā¢ Monitor system performance using Azure Monitor, LCS, SQL Profiler, Query Store, and other system logs to identify performance degradation and anomalies
ā¢ Collaborate with DevOps and Infra teams to analyze compute sizing (VMs, SQL DTUs, IOPS), network latency, right-sizing and scaling configurations
ā¢ Analyze results and provide actionable recommendations for database tuning, batch scheduling optimization, payload efficiency, and query performance
ā¢ Support the creation of dashboards and reports to visualize throughput and latency trends over time
ā¢ Document performance findings and tuning activities in Confluence and maintain test evidence for sign-off
Skills
ā¢ 10+ years of experience in performance engineering or performance testing, preferably in ERP or large-scale retail enterprise systems
ā¢ Experience with Dynamics 365 (a plus)
ā¢ Experience with Azure Load Testing OR JMeter
ā¢ Strong SQL skills with SQL Profiler, Query Store, and execution plan analysis experience
ā¢ Familiarity with AIS (Azure Integration Services) and Azure Data Factory performance patterns or any other middleware integration tool
ā¢ Experience with cloud monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics)
ā¢ Understanding of integration performance metrics throughput, latency, payload efficiency, batch duration, and scheduling alignment
ā¢ Ability to analyze infrastructure sizing and environment configurations for performance impact
ā¢ Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to translate technical findings into business-impact statements
ā¢ Prior experience in retail ERP implementations or multi-system integration ecosystems
ā¢ Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ADO, and automation integration with performance test tools
ā¢ Experience in .NET or C# scripting for custom load tests or data setup
ā¢ Familiarity with Day-in-the-Life testing and production performance monitoring alignment
