Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Remote Vision Support Teacher to join our team, providing essential education services to K-12 students with visual impairments. As a Remote Vision Support Teacher, you will be responsible for:
Conducting remote vision assessments to identify student needs and develop personalized learning plans
Designing and implementing accessible lesson plans and materials to promote student engagement and academic achievement
Teaching Braille, low vision strategies, and technology skills to empower students with the tools they need to succeed
Collaborating with school staff to integrate supports into the curriculum, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Reporting student progress to parents and administrators regularly, providing timely feedback and guidance
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Visually Impaired from an accredited institution
Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments, with remote teaching experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate with school teams remotely
Proficiency in using tele-education platforms and technology for remote service delivery
