We're seeking a talented Instructional Designer to join our team at the University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medical Student Education. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for planning and implementing interactive learning activities and compelling course content that meets the needs of our target audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments and analysis, identifying new development needs for our target audience
Design and create engaging learning activities and course content that enhances retention and transfer, using a range of methodologies and emerging technologies
Develop instructional graphics, user interfaces, and finished products that provide an exceptional learning experience
Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts, applying tested instructional design theories and methods
Create supporting multimedia materials, including audio, video, simulations, and games, to enhance the learning process
Determine criteria for judging learner performance and develop assessment instruments
Maintain project documentation, course folders, and resources, adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures
Department Specific Functions:
Degree in Instructional Design or Higher Education Administration preferred
Experience with industry-standard Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, and Elentra required
Teaching experience and experience working with subject matter experts in medical education preferred
Highly proficient in various Learning Management Systems and authoring tools such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and iSpring
Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage projects, and maintain records
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Ability to communicate effectively, maintain records, and work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office
