The Field Service Technician role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical power systems to ensure reliable operation in mission-critical environments.ResponsibilitiesThis role specializes in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical power systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDU), static switches (STS), and related systemsThis role ensures the continuous, reliable operation of mission-critical infrastructure for data centers, hospitals, telecommunications facilities, and other environments where uninterrupted power is essentialPerforms service tasks, identifies technical problems, and conducts analysis through remote or on-site activities in various service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end-of-life services, replacements, etc.)Contributes to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer orders and expectationsBuilds and maintains good relationships with customers, understands their needs, and identifies new sales opportunities to communicate internallyCoordinates, prepares, and ensures that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and meet the appropriate quality standards for service activitiesIdentifies potential equipment failures proactively and requests corrective actionsTroubleshoots equipment failures and makes recommendations to prevent future issuesSkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years' experience servicing critical power equipmentAssociates Degree in electrical technology with 3+ years' experience servicing critical power equipmentHigh School Diploma/GED and equivalent work and/or military experience (5+ years) servicing critical power equipmentMust have valid US drivers licenseCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USAdvanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organizationAdvanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office productsModerate ability to Project Manage using MS Project or ExcelAdvanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test resultsAdvanced ability to stay organized and meet deadlines on administrative dutiesCollaborates well with othersWorks with a sense of urgency and ownership; until the job is completeBenefitsChoice between two medical plan options: A PPO plan called the Copay Plan OR a High Deductible Health Plan (with a Health Savings Account) called the High Deductible Plan.Choice between two dental plan options: Core and Core PlusVision benefitCompany paid life insurance (2X base pay)Company paid AD&D (1X base pay)Voluntary life and AD&D β 100% employee paid up to maximumsShort Term Disability β up to 26 weeks β Company paidLong Term Disability β 60% of pay β Company paid.
