Job Overview
We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Desktop Support Specialist to become an integral part of our esteemed team. As a fully remote position, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere, while contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment that enhances our organization's IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and Microsoft Windows operating systems, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.
Efficiently set up and configure new workstations, applications, upgrades, and patches, leveraging your technical expertise to drive efficiency and productivity.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals, providing prompt and effective support to end-users.
Collaborate with the IT Service Desk and Engineers to address technical issues, implement new technologies, and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and innovation.
Respond to helpdesk tickets promptly, delivering exceptional customer service and technical support to ensure high levels of user satisfaction.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, resolutions, and processes within our helpdesk system, ensuring accurate records and informed decision-making.
Provide technical support and training to IT staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Plan, test, and implement system and software upgrades as needed, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
Participate in disaster recovery testing, documenting results and recommendations for improvement to ensure business continuity and resilience.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, addressing audit findings and maintaining the highest levels of integrity and governance.
Be a proactive member of the Incident Management Team, prioritizing tasks during declared incidents and contributing to swift resolution and minimal disruption.
Participate in a rotational 24/7 on-call support schedule, ensuring continuous support and availability to meet the needs of our users.
Attend training sessions to deepen knowledge of IT systems and compliance practices, staying ahead of the curve and driving personal and professional growth.

Required Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10/11, imaging, deployment, and patching processes, with a strong understanding of IT principles and practices.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, GPO, DNS, and DHCP, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting.
Understanding of ITIL processes such as Change Management and Problem Management, with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
Knowledge of networking principles and remote support tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in desktop support and IT services, with a proven track record of success and achievement.
An Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience of 1-3 years, with a strong foundation in IT principles and practices.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are preferred, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
