[Remote] Data Security Compliance Consultant

The Data Security Compliance Consultant leads smaller projects, providing technical expertise to design and implement security solutions while advising clients on security and technology decisions.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Lead smaller projects with little or no oversight
ā¢ Implement solutions based on documented designs
ā¢ Understand design decisions and explain their impact on technology and security outcomes
ā¢ Maintain working knowledge of required licensing for deployed features
ā¢ Assist with project scoping and design as part of a larger delivery team
ā¢ Support planning, scheduling, and completion of projects on time and within budget
ā¢ Understand client business objectives and how security technology supports those goals
ā¢ Communicate proactively with client stakeholders to maintain transparency
ā¢ Serve as a trusted advisor by providing recommendations aligned with client best interests
ā¢ Transfer knowledge to clients as part of service delivery
ā¢ Identify additional opportunities within existing accounts and collaborate with senior team members to pursue them
ā¢ Manage multiple project commitments simultaneously while meeting deadlines
ā¢ Support documentation, timelines, and deliverables
ā¢ Contribute to successful execution of project plans and schedules
ā¢ Mentor other team members when appropriate
ā¢ Share technical insights and best practices across the team
ā¢ Collaborate effectively with peers, leadership, and cross-functional teams
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (5 years)
ā¢ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Purview solutions, including: Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, Data Map, Unified Catalog, Audit, Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, Data Security Posture Management for AI
ā¢ Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
ā¢ Experience integrating Microsoft and third-party solutions with Purview
ā¢ Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
ā¢ Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision
ā¢ Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to business scenarios
ā¢ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
ā¢ Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
ā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ā¢ Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
ā¢ Ability to balance individual responsibilities with team priorities
ā¢ Ability to leverage AI tools responsibly, including validation and fact-checking of outputs
ā¢ Experience with third-party data security, governance, and compliance platforms (e.g., Varonis, Symantec)
ā¢ Advanced knowledge of data mapping practices and methodologies
ā¢ Certifications in relevant third-party solutions
