[Remote] California Labor & Employment Staff Attorney or Counsel - Hourly - Remote

They are seeking a remote Staff Attorney or Counsel with significant employment litigation experience to join their top-ranked practice group. Responsibilities • Work with state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and professional environment. • Provide opportunities for professional development. • Be a member of the consistently top-ranked and nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group. • Handle employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side. • Familiarity with and experience in federal and state court practice, as well as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state and local government administrative agencies. • Draft responsive pleadings, handle all aspects of the discovery process, and draft motions, including motions for summary judgment. • Handle a practice that includes handling EEOC charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, defending clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, representing clients in mediations and conciliations, and negotiating settlements. Skills • 5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side. • Familiarity with and experience in federal and state court practice, as well as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state and local government administrative agencies. • Litigation experience, including drafting responsive pleadings, handling all aspects of the discovery process, and drafting motions, including motions for summary judgment. • Ability to handle a practice that includes handling EEOC charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, defending clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, representing clients in mediations and conciliations, and negotiating settlements. • A collegiate, cooperative approach and enjoy working with experienced lawyers sharing ideas, resources and best practices. • A desire to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, on track position. • Strong time management skills, and a flexibility around potential work flow. • An active bar license in the state in which you will reside and one in which Seyfarth maintains an office.
