[Remote] Associate, Brokerage Operations (Reconciliations)

The Associate in the Brokerage Operations Reconciliations team will manage daily and monthly reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment, while also seeking opportunities for process improvement and collaboration across teams. Responsibilities Own a variety of critical trade and position reconciliations, proactively escalating to various upstream teams such as settlements, corporate actions, trade desk, securities lending to resolve discrepancies and mitigate risk Collaborate with a cross-functional Operational team, ensuring accuracy of our books of record Cultivate a deep knowledge on the settlement and clearance of equities through CDS and DTC Adapt to our evolving service and build process to support the evolution of the team Utilize SQL, Data and other AI tooling to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions that improve the efficiency of our back office operation teams Skills 1–2 years in brokerage operations or trade support Strong experience with Excel/Google Sheets Experience with programming such as SQL, Appscript/Javascript to identify opportunities for process improvements Natural curiosity that unearths inefficiencies in processes before they arise Detail-oriented problem-solver who thrives under pressure Ability to expertly manage multiple time-sensitive tasks while quickly adapting to challenges in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams and partners Curious, analytical, and proactive about improving processes using data, clear thinking, and care to make things simpler and smarter CSC, CPH, or DFOL are a plus Previous working experience at a broker-dealer handling back office reconciliation responsibilities for options, securities operations and securities lending programs (IIROC-regulated dealer is preferred) Bonus points for working with precious metals Have completed or are pursuing industry courses (CSC, DFOL etc) Benefits Top-tier health benefits and life insurance Long-term group savings with employer match using our Wealthsimple for Business platform 20 vacation days + 4 wellness days per year, and unlimited sick and mental health days 90 days away program: Employees can work outside of Canada for up to 90 days per calendar year A wide variety of peer and company-led Employee Resources Groups (e.g., Rainbow, Women of Wealthsimple, Black @ WS) Company Overview Wealthsimple is a fintech company that offers digital financial services to help investors grow and manage their money.
