Project Ops Manager Remote

Role Overview • Position: Technical Expert Project Manager (TEPM) – Contract, Remote • Commitment: At least 20 hours per week • This role supports Strategic Project Leads in managing AI projects. It requires strong technical skills, especially in SQL and dashboarding tools like Hex. Responsibilities • Support a Mercor Project Lead in coordinating project operations and managing workflows. • Build and maintain project dashboards in Hex to track metrics and expert engagement. • Engage experts on projects and manage community interactions. • Respond to expert support tickets and lead targeted follow-ups as needed. • Host office hours and develop Q&A documentation once projects reach a steady state. • Distribute project metrics emails, issue reminders or warnings, and nudge experts as needed. • Perform first-round data QA, often in collaboration with lead reviewers. Requirements / Qualifications Must-Have Qualifications • 2+ years of experience in technical project management, operations, or similar. • Proficiency with SQL and experience using Hex or comparable data visualization tools. • Demonstrated ability to build, track, and maintain technical project infrastructure. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for expert engagement. • Structured approach to quality control and documentation. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with data annotation, especially in rubrics, is a strong plus. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Engagement Details • Fully remote work around your schedule. • $50/hr (USD) compensation. • Weekly payout via Stripe Connect based on logged hours. • Classified as an "at-will" contractor to Mercor. • Direct mentorship from an experienced Mercor Strategic Project Lead. • Initial scope varies by project; strong contributors may be offered evergreen contracts. • We cannot currently support H1-B or STEM OPT status candidates.
