Privacy and Cybersecurity Attorney Portland or Seattle

Schwabe is seeking a highly motivated Privacy and Cybersecurity Attorney to join its team. This position requires 6+ years of experience in the following areas:
• Advising clients on their obligations under information privacy laws;
• Advising on e-mail marketing and online advertising and matters relating to cloud storage;
• Preparing privacy policies for websites and mobile applications;
• Negotiating contractual provisions allocating risk between clients and service providers related to personal data, trade secrets, and confidential information;
• Advising on representations and warranties related to privacy and security in M&A transactions;
• Advising on use of cookies, Google Analytics, and other common technologies in websites; and
• Advising on incident response planning
The ideal candidate will have:
• Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid legal research, writing, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work well in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence
• Strong client service ethic
• Admission or eligibility for reciprocity to the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar, or California State Bar
• US and international privacy certifications
• Some portable book of business plus demonstrated success in developing a client portfolio

The pay range for this position is $185,000 - $275,000, depending on job skills and experience. Higher base compensation may be available to candidates depending on their portable book of business. The position is also eligible for discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year.
