What You'll Do

As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a multifaceted role that balances technical responsibilities with direct customer interaction. Here's what you can expect:

Customer Experience Excellence

Greet and engage customers and patients with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they walk through our doors
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve issues with empathy and efficiency, ensuring every patient leaves satisfied
Offer proactive assistance with products and services, taking the time to understand each customer's unique needs
Share best practices with team members to collectively elevate the customer experience across the entire store
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills including friendly greetings, meaningful eye contact, and genuine courtesy
Provide knowledgeable recommendations for over-the-counter products and suggest companion items that may benefit the customer


Pharmacy Operations

Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in accordance with state and federal regulations, maintaining the highest standards of pharmacy practice
Utilize our advanced pharmacy systems to accurately retrieve patient and drug information, ensuring data integrity
Process prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical medications with meticulous attention to detail
Verify medication accuracy and check for potential drug interactions before dispensing
Register customer purchases on the cash system, collect payments accurately, and provide efficient checkout service
Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed
Maintain clean, well-organized counters and cabinets while ensuring attractive merchandising
Perform regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records
Price merchandise according to store guidelines and communicate effectively with the pharmacy team
Handle phone calls that don't require pharmacist intervention, including physician communications
Process and resubmit third-party prescription claims efficiently and accurately
Support pharmacy department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments
Document any discrepancies including overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods related to prescription medications
Ensure strict compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco
Build and maintain eye-catching displays including promotional, seasonal, and special merchandise displays
Complete resets and revisions as directed by management


Additional Store Support

Provide assistance in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, poster printing, and creative equipment operation
Support online order pick-up duties by monitoring orders, picking items, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive
Assist with maintaining store cleanliness and appearance, both interior and exterior
Help with proper food separation and product placement according to store policies
Support inventory rotation using first-in, first-out methodology
Demonstrate working knowledge of store systems and equipment


Quality & Compliance

Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company error reporting procedures
Follow all company guidelines regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs
Comply with company policies regarding faith-based dispensing across all prescription dispensing activities
Maintain thorough knowledge of and strictly adhere to the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Behavior
Comply with all company rules and procedures while maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers


What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (with exceptions as permitted in Puerto Rico)
Availability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours
Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform calculations accurately for cash handling and inventory
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to processing prescriptions and handling sensitive information
Customer Service Orientation: Genuine desire to help others and create positive experiences
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists and other team members


Preferred Qualifications

Previous pharmacy technician experience or retail customer service background
Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and common medication names
Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and software
Understanding of insurance claims processing
Experience with inventory management and merchandising
Previous work in a healthcare or medical environment
