Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, your experience qualifies for 8 (eight) university credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). This course is recommended for 3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category and 5 semester hours in the upper-division baccalaureate degree category for a total of 8 semester hours.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in our pharmacy operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Pharmacy Operations: Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Supervisor.
Prescription Processing: Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately. Enter patient and drug records, ensuring information is entered correctly.
Prescription Fulfillment: Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets, verifying medication is accurate, and checking for possible interactions.
Quality Assurance: Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately and adhere to company rules and procedures related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs.
Customer Service: Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience. Engage customers and patients by greeting them and providing assistance with services and products. Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience.
Cash Handling: Register all related income on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required. If certified, assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
Third-Party Processing: Process (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
Inventory Management: Support Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of prescription drugs. Maintain knowledge of company asset safety techniques.
Clinical Support: May assist pharmacists in administering clinical services such as collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required.
Professional Relationships: Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
