Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time UGHE Teaching Assistant for Health Policy and Political Economy (HPPE) to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in facilitating the delivery of the HPPE course, working closely with Course Instructors and the Course Coordinator. This is a remote opportunity, offering approximately 10 hours of engagement per week, from November 5 to December 11, 2023.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Course Instructors and the Course Coordinator to deliver the HPPE course, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students.
Grade student assessments, essays, reports, tests, and exams, providing constructive feedback to enhance student learning.
Draft and edit teaching and learning materials for the HPPE course, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
Respond promptly to student and administrative requests, maintaining effective communication and resolving queries in a timely manner.
Adhere to the UGHE Code of Conduct and Honor Code, upholding the values of academic integrity, intellectual curiosity, and respect for diversity.


Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should possess:

A Master's degree in Global Health Delivery, Public Health, Health Policy, or a related field.
Completed coursework focused on policy, global health, equity, and health disparities.
Experience serving as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate or graduate students, particularly in courses that emphasize policy analysis and active learning approaches.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to draft and edit teaching materials.
Reliable and flexible, with availability of up to 10 hours per week.
Familiarity with online learning platforms, preferably the Canvas system.
Exemplary interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and countries.


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

Experience working in global health delivery, particularly in low-resource settings.
Knowledge of social justice and health equity principles, with a strong commitment to promoting these values.
Experience with team-based learning and problem-based learning approaches.
Fluency in multiple languages, particularly French and Kinyarwanda.
