We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-time English Tutor to join our team at Great Basin College in Pahrump, NV. As a Part-time English Tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the academic success of our students by providing individualized support and guidance in English language skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide general tutoring of class material to students, including discussing text, working solutions to problems, and reviewing worksheets or class materials
Offer feedback and positive reinforcement to students to help them achieve their academic goals
Assist students with computer usage and other technology-related tasks as needed
Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and possibly Fridays, between the hours of 10am-8pm, Monday through Thursday
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students who may be struggling with English language skills
Reliable transportation to and from the Pahrump location
