Blazer Jobs is currently partnering with a school district in New Caney, TX, to recruit for a part-time, onsite Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Teacher for the current school year. This position offers competitive pay, advisory support, and professional development opportunities.
Position Details:
Ā Hours: 24 hours per week, 3 days per week
Ā Caseload/Details: Part-time position for teaching skills and concepts necessary for safe movement and travel for visually impaired students (including blind or low vision).
Ā Special Requirements: O&M Endorsement required.
Ā Starting Pay: $35/hour
Basic Daily Responsibilities:
Ā Provide orientation and mobility training to visually impaired students.
Ā Develop and implement individualized mobility plans.
Ā Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff.
Ā Assess and monitor student progress in mobility skills.
Ā Ensure students are prepared for independent travel both within school and in the community.
Renewal for the following school year is based on performance and district needs.
