About the Role As an Online Visiting Professor, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of technology leaders. You will be responsible for teaching practitioner-based programs in Network & Communications Management, developing course materials, and facilitating student learning in an online environment. This is an excellent opportunity to share your industry expertise, inspire, and mentor students, and contribute to the University's mission. Key Responsibilities Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives. Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions to prepare the course and make it accessible to students. Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning. Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories. Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives. Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students. Complete other duties as assigned by the University. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field (such as Network Engineering/Technology, IT, or a related field) with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching. A Doctoral degree is preferred. Your qualifications must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation. In addition to your academic credentials, you must have: Requisite subject matter expertise in Network & Communications Management. Outstanding communication and instructional skills. Excellent motivational skills to facilitate student learning in a diverse and non-traditional environment. The ability to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
