About the Opportunity We are seeking industry professionals with a Master's degree to share their knowledge and experience as Adjunct Faculty members, teaching practitioner-based programs in Information Security. As an Online Visiting Professor, you will facilitate student learning by delivering educational courses and programs in accordance with DeVry University requirements. You will develop course syllabi and lesson plans, applying teaching techniques to best achieve course and programmatic objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including the terminal course objectives. Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions, to prepare the course and make it accessible to students. Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning. Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories. Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives. Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, providing timely feedback to students. Complete other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the academic program. Qualifications and Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A Master's degree is required; Doctoral degree preferred (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching; MS Software Engineering, MSCS, or MS Cyber Security). Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation. Requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills are essential. Excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment are required. The ability to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups is necessary.
