High Level Description of Role - The Network Engineer II role is responsible for operations, management, and security of all DataBank data center and enterprise networks. This includes 75 data centers across 27 markets in the US and EMEA. This engineering role will work directly with customers as well as internal engineering, Cloud, Operations, Sales, Product, IT, and Data Center teams to ensure the service and SLA requirements established by the company. The individual should have a customer first mentality and work well with others. Be well organized, multi-faceted, be able to shift priorities on a moment's notice. Work after hours, performing operational maintenances, scheduled customer changes, and on-call duties. Responsibilities: • Routing & switching, Firewall, Load Balancing, IDS/IPS, and DDoS • Documentation of standards and policy/procedures • Security and Compliance assurance • Plan and document new datacenter network and Wi-Fi builds. • Work with network engineers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of new datacenter builds. • Escalation for Operations and Support Organizations • Execution of standard & complex changes in the network environment • Interacting with customers for activations, migrations, and incidents • Deployment and support of new services and features Qualifications: • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in Enterprise or Service Provider Networks • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience • Experience with Juniper switch/router hardware and JUNOS • Experience with firewalls and loadbalancing. • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including excellent written/verbal communications • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques and change management execution • Exhibits mature organizational and time management skills • Experience with high availability global environment with 99.999% SLA • Accomplishes tasks with minimal supervision. • Exeperience with WiFi troubleshooting and deployment • Experience with coordination of projects between multiple teams. • Proven ability to communicate networking concepts to other teams.
