Network Deploy Technician, ID Deploy Optical Team
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. They are seeking a Network Deploy Technician to assist in the stability and sustainability of their next-generation networks while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project execution. Responsibilities Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction Up to 30% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware Moving and lifting computer equipment up to 40 lbs Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 Skills High school or equivalent diploma 1+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers Data center experience Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF) Benefits Equity Sign-on payments Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits Company Overview Launched in 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began exposing key infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now widely known as cloud computing.
