Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Medical Transcriptionist to work remotely, transcribing medical reports with accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent typing skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for transcribing dictation from healthcare professionals, editing and proofreading reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe reports, including but not limited to:
Pathology
Cardiology
Clinic and office notes
Radiology
Letters and miscellaneous tests
Edit and proofread PowerScribe reports for accuracy and completeness
Contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction and process improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and efficiency
Maintain confidentiality of patient reports and information, adhering to internal department policies and regulatory requirements
Utilize computerized medical record systems and transcription dictation systems to maximum capability, enhancing productivity and efficiency
Audit provider documentation for accuracy on a weekly basis
Perform additional duties as assigned by the transcription manager or director of the department
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1 year of typing or transcriptionist experience
Excellent typing skills, with high accuracy and productivity
Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High degree of concentration and attention to detail
Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
We prefer candidates with:
Experience with PowerScribe or other transcription systems
Knowledge of medical record systems and electronic health records
Certification as a medical transcriptionist (CMT or RMT)
