Medical Scribe Transcriptionist
Busy, long established Internal Medicine Practice seeking a Medical Scribe to work directly with Physician. Usually 3 days a week (no Thursdays or weekends) but occasionally 4 days. Average hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Perfect for college student or a Mom looking to work a few days a week. We have had over 30 Medical Scribes from this practice who have transitioned into Medical School with the experience an knowledge that they received from working at this office.
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for a MEDICAL SCRIBE ONLY .... NOT a medical secretary.
Responsibilities:
• Accompanies the provider to the bedside
• Accurately and thoroughly documents the patient medical history, physical exam, and procedures
• Completes transcription as requested
• Performs tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shift
• Maintains confidentiality with all patient information according to HIPAA laws
Minimum Education and Experience:
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge
• Excellent listening and note-taking skills
• High school diploma required
• Familiarity with a healthcare setting and ability to demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and computer application skills required. Ability to type quickly and accurately
• Displayed passion for healthcare'
