Forensics Consultant

The Forensics Consultant is part of a team located at the Washington, DC office. This person will be responsible for delivering technology related client services in the areas of forensic data collections, data extraction, data processing, as well as digital and forensic analysis. This person must be located in the Washington, DC area and be available to visit the office and travel to on-site collections when needed. Core Functions: • Use data mining tools to search, sort, and organize large amounts of electronic information • Deploy off-the-shelf and proprietary data collection, analysis, and reporting tools • Responsible for receiving, documenting, storing, transferring, and returning evidence for forensic analysis and production • Maintains inventory control procedures for all evidence and oversees the release, destruction and subsequent paperwork of same • Create and provide reports relating to evidence handling as requested • Contribute to the development and maintenance of applications used for data management and storage • Work as part of a team to provide technical solutions to automate processes and functions to improve data storage and retrieval processes • Work within the boundaries of an overall practice methodology and blueprint • Develop ad-hoc data reports and analyses • Maintain appropriate documentation to include events such as chain of custody • Report to work on a regular basis within time and attendance policies • Provides data and quality control for all DC lab projects • Under the supervision and direction of senior staff: Collect and analyze electronic data from a variety of electronic media, including desktops, laptops, cell phones, tablets, etc • AdditionalResponsibilities:· Attend team and company meetings on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis • Provide back-up processing and hosting support when business needs require • May be assigned Lab Coordination Responsibilities including: • -ensure forensic software is up to date-document policies and procedures-update hardware and inventory assets· - Submit time in accordance with preset deadlines - May be asked to perform other duties not listed in this job description as required by business needs.Qualifications:· • Bachelor’s Degree or experience commensurate with level • A minimum of 7 years of experience collecting and analyzing forensic data; professional services experience strongly preferred • Strong understanding and application of forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, NUIX • Proven ability to collect and analyze data from various media including: desktops, laptops, tablets, cell phones, social media, etc. • Proven ability to maintain appropriate documentation such as Chain of Custody (CoC) • Certification in 1 or more tools preferred (EnCE, FTK, GCFE) • Willingness to travel and meet position needs outside of regular business hours Working Location & Conditions: • Hybrid, with the ability to travel (local and non-local) when business needs require • Home office, should be a quiet and professional space that can be used for virtual meetings (that include video as needed) and maintain client confidentiality.Qualifications:· • Bachelor’s Degree or experience commensurate with level • A minimum of 7 years of experience collecting and analyzing forensic data; professional services experience strongly preferred • Strong understanding and application of forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, NUIX • Proven ability to collect and analyze data from various media including: desktops, laptops, tablets, cell phones, social media, etc. • Proven ability to maintain appropriate documentation such as Chain of Custody (CoC) • Certification in 1 or more tools preferred (EnCE, FTK, GCFE) • Willingness to travel and meet position needs outside of regular business hours Working Location & Conditions: • Hybrid, with the ability to travel (local and non-local) when business needs require • Home office, should be a quiet and professional space that can be used for virtual meetings (that include video as needed) and maintain client confidentiality.Salary range: $130,000 - $145,000Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Time to make your next move your best move!
