Medical Biller/Coder
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Biller/Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing billing processes, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle operations, improve cash flow, and support the delivery of quality patient care. Responsibilities
• Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes for procedures and diagnoses.
• Ensure accurate coding using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to facilitate billing processes.
• Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies, government programs, and patients in compliance with all regulations.
• Follow up on unpaid claims through medical collection efforts, resolving discrepancies or denials efficiently.
• Maintain detailed documentation of medical records, coding decisions, and billing transactions for audit purposes.
• Stay current with coding updates, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and optimize reimbursement outcomes.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, as well as DRG classifications.
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management.
• Understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance claims processing, and collections.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in coding and billing tasks.
