Discover how Wheel is transforming the future of healthcare by visiting www.wheel.com.About the RoleWe're looking for a high-ownership operator to build and run clinician scheduling operations for Wheel Medical Groups1099 and W2 provider group. This is not a coordinator role - it's a builder role. You'll own a function that directly determines whether clinicians are active, earning, and covering the right accounts at the right times. You'll inherit a gap and be expected to close it, instrument it, and make it scalable.You think in systems. You see a manual workflow and immediately use AI to automate it. You're comfortable pulling your own data, identifying the pattern, and acting on it without being told. You want to work at the intersection of clinician experience, operational performance, and marketplace economics - and you want real ownership of outcomes, not tasks.You’ll be the bridge between capacity models and real-world execution with real ownership and building a best-in-class scheduling operation from the ground up. You’re deeply curious about using AI, automation, and scrappy workflows to automate yourself out of repetitive tasks so you can focus on higher-judgment, people-facing work. You are extremely data driven and feel comfortable manipulating data to identify patterns and trends.What You’ll DoOwn weekly clinician scheduling performance, with a clear mandate to increase available hours across our existing clinician networkProactively collect, validate, and expand clinician availability by working directly with providers to align schedules with marketplace demandIdentify underutilized or low-earning clinicians and execute targeted outreach to increase activation, engagement, and earning opportunitiesTrack and analyze availability, utilization, adherence, and earnings trends to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvementTranslate capacity guidance into executable schedules while balancing clinician experience with operational performanceRefine scheduling workflows and operating practices based on real-world performance dataPartner with Marketplace leadership to drive focused initiatives that expand clinician participation and overall network capacityIdentify trends in clinician performance and quality, and partner with Clinician Success Leads to drive targeted feedback and remediation, while coordinating with Provider Operations to support clinician activation and readiness against shared goals.Manage day-of and short-term scheduling adjustments, including callouts, coverage shifts, and real-time changesBuild trusted relationships with clinicians to improve responsiveness, reliability, and long-term engagementContribute to the implementation of scheduling tools and automation initiatives to support scalabilitySupport clinician pay operations and related administrative workflows as part of cross-functional operational coverageWho You Are2–4 years of experience in consulting, operations, tech, workforce operations or a high-growth environment where you owned measurable outcomesDemonstrated track record of taking ambiguous problems and driving results independentlyHighly analytical and data-oriented - comfortable working in spreadsheets daily and using metrics to guide actionExperience building reports or dashboards using spreadsheets and/or BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, etc.) to track performance and identify trendsProactive and persistent - you don’t wait for direction; you identify gaps and moveStrong communicator who is comfortable engaging clinicians directly and influencing behaviorComfortable operating in fast-moving, high-accountability environmentsOrganized and detail-oriented without losing sight of performance impactExcited by building process from scratch and improving systems over timeAdditional SkillsExperience working with contingent, contractor, or hybrid workforcesExperience working with agentic workflows, automation, Claude Code, with interest in applying them to operational efficiencyExposure to healthcare, telehealth, marketplace, or marketplace modelsExperience managing real-time operational workflowsExperience working alongside forecasting or capacity planning functionsExperience using workforce scheduling or real-time management tools (e.g., Calabrio, Planbase, or similar platforms)Wheel is committed to equal employment opportunities for all team members.
