Job description:

We are seeking experienced Equipment Specialists to support our client in the setup of production lines to launch new vehicle models. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with Process Equipment within an Automotive OEM plant. The Equipment Specialist will lead projects in design and installation of equipment for new model launches. The role of this Specialist will drive continuous improvement to standards, equipment designs and facility installations while meeting the cost and timing requirements of the program. The scope of this work will span the functions of Body Shop, Paint and General Assembly.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain standards for facilities / equipment to address.
• Demo and installation of existing program equipment.
• Power drops and similar infrastructure.
• Scope for heavy construction.
• Design and fabrication of equipment.
• Assist the plants with troubleshooting equipment issues post launch.
• Ensure systems meet required cycle times and OA; Eliminate sources of downtime.
• Lead project status meetings, manage progress reports to master plan, address variances to schedule.
• Procure equipment (identify suppliers, prepare RFQ package, prepare technical evaluations, write requisitions, follow up until PO’s released).
• Receive equipment and oversee installation (coordinate with facilities for unloading and placement, complete installation, perform power on procedure, assist supplier for debugging the process, define acceptance procedures, assist supplier to perform acceptance run procedures).
• Support Capex reductions where possible through innovative thinking and modifications in the assembly plant.
• Maintain the plant ACAD layout for equipment. Manage field observations, measurements and conversion of information supplied from vendors into the overall composite plant layout.
• Lead Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities with the platform team for new/critical processes.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Equipment or Facility management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an Automotive manufacturing environment, including working in OEM assembly plants.
• 2D and 3D layout experience; proficient with CAD software (ePlan /AutoCAD) experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated team leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Automotive launch experience.
• Experience working with skilled trades in plants for installation, operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with 3D Carrier Design; Familiarity with Power and Free, EMS, FDS, and Skillet Conveyors.
• Experience developing bid packages for new equipment.
