Manager, Commodities Risk Management and Ingredients - Hybrid/ Remote

Job Summary The Manager's primary responsibility within the Commodities Risk Management ("CRM") team will be commodity price forecasting. This forecasting work is distributed to the entire Coca-Cola Bottling system and is used by Bottlers and The Company for PPV calculations, COGS forecasting, revenue growth management, and financial planning. Additionally, this individual will become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a selected category identified below; and, as such, will be expected to counsel Bottlers on strategy, present and defend their market view to various audiences, and work across the system on related matters. The role also requires supporting the Ingredients Procurement Team in an analytic and administrative capacity, providing learning opportunities for the candidate across one or more categories (HFCS, sugar, CO2, specialty sweeteners). The role will support some tactical functions for the CCBSS Procurement Team for sourcing events for direct and indirect categories and participate in strategy development.
The key requirement for this role is the desire to learn commodity price forecasting. This combines fundamental market research (supply/demand, macro and microeconomic variables) statistical analysis based on historical results, price chart technical analysis (pattern recognition) and synthesizing external opinions and variables. This is more art than science - the successful candidate must be comfortable working within this "grey" space and be able to articulate and defend their ideas and position to a wide and diverse set of stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Become the SME for assigned Category: Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET Bottles/Packaging)

Develop and maintain supplier formula-based pricing model for virgin and recycled PET.
Research market drivers for feedstock inputs and global/regional resin demand.
Collaborate closely with the CCBSS PET team for physical market and supply chain dynamics.
Develop monthly price forecasts and communicate them to the Coca-Cola System.
Recommend hedging opportunities to respective parties; track and incorporate into models and forecasts.
Lead cross-functional work as required (PE, HDPE, LLDPE) for Packaging Team


Support CRM team in analysis and analytics work across multiple categories
Support Ingredients Procurement Team in various activities, TBD
Explore new areas of value creation to increase our contributions to Bottlers and the Coca-Cola System

Key Skills and Abilities
MS Excel proficiency - strong data manipulation, formulaic and statistical analytics, modeling and graphics creation is a key component for this position and the successful candidate must be able to immediately contribute.
MS PowerPoint proficiency - ability to create and contribute to team presentations to stakeholders.
Create independent thought and opinion via detailed analysis and express them via verbal and written communication - clear, concise writing and speaking skills required.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute in a dynamic environment without direct oversight.
Ability to influence external parties and internal stakeholders without authority through factually based negotiation, persuasion, communication, and collaboration skills while building and strengthening relationships.
Operate in a confidential environment with multiple firewalls/discretion serving multiple clients.
Desire and ability to learn and function across multiple, different commodity categories.
Experience with commodities trading, commodities hedging, commodities research/analysis.
Led a Category, developed strategy and functioned as a SME.
Track record of success in role and increasing responsibility.
Direct materials sourcing and supplier management experience.
Functional knowledge/experience with SAP and/or standard procurement-related software.
Broad knowledge of the Coca-Cola system and how its various entities relate and interact.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a business, finance, or engineering related field that required strong computational analysis or an equivalent amount of work experience.

Years of Experience
1-3 years in strategic procurement or related business function.
Prior financial trading experience a plus.

Required Travel 10% - Motor Vehicles Report will be processed
